The TRS7 Series Type 2 AC Surge Protection Device is engineered to provide high capacity protection for low voltage electrical installations against transient over-voltages caused by lightning strikes and switching events. Installed within distribution boards, the device safely diverts surge energy to ground, preventing damaging voltage spikes from reaching sensitive equipment connected downstream.
Using advanced MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) technology, the TRS7 series remains inactive during normal operating conditions but responds instantly when a surge occurs. When excessive voltage is detected, the SPD rapidly switches to a low-impedance path, directing the surge current safely to earth and restoring the system to normal operation once the disturbance passes.
Designed for demanding electrical environments, the TRS7 series offers very high surge discharge capacity, making it suitable for installations exposed to stronger transient disturbances. Models are available with maximum discharge ratings of 80kA, 100kA, 120kA, and up to 150kA, supporting both 1 phase and 3 phase power systems.
The device features a compact DIN rail modular design with plug in protection modules, enabling fast installation and simplified maintenance. A visual status window clearly indicates the operational state of the SPD, while an optional remote alarm contact allows monitoring systems to detect device status or failure conditions in real time.
Compliant with IEC 61643-11 and EN 61643-11 standards, the TRS7 series delivers dependable surge protection for industrial facilities, commercial buildings, automation systems, and critical electrical infrastructure
