The UNI-T UT515B 10kV Insulation Resistance Tester is a professional high-voltage insulation tester designed for transformers, HV cables, motors, generators, switchgear and other high-voltage electrical equipment.

With selectable insulation test voltages of 500V, 1000V, 2500V, 5000V and 10,000V, and insulation resistance measurement up to 10TΩ, the UT515B provides the test capability required for commissioning, preventative maintenance, insulation condition assessment and fault investigation of critical electrical assets.

Beyond basic insulation resistance measurement, the UT515B provides Polarisation Index (PI), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), leakage current measurement, timed testing and 10% step-voltage testing, giving technicians more information about insulation condition than a conventional megohmmeter.

A rechargeable lithium battery, automatic discharge, 999-record internal memory and USB PC software connectivity make the UT515B particularly suitable for utility, substation and industrial field applications.

Designed for High Voltage Insulation Testing

Insulation resistance is one of the key indicators used to assess the condition of high voltage electrical assets.

Ageing, contamination, moisture, overheating and electrical or mechanical stress can gradually deteriorate insulation systems.

The UT515B allows technicians to test insulation resistance at voltages up to 10kV, making it suitable for applications where conventional 500V or 1000V insulation testers do not provide sufficient test voltage.

Typical applications include:

  • Power transformers
  • HV and MV cables
  • Motors and generators
  • Switchgear
  • Substation equipment
  • Industrial electrical assets
  • Power distribution equipment
  • Telecommunications infrastructure
