The UNI-T UT568B Acoustic Imaging Camera is a professional condition monitoring and fault-location instrument designed to make normally invisible acoustic and ultrasonic sources visible.
Featuring an advanced array of 138 high sensitivity digital MEMS microphones, the UT568B captures acoustic signals across a wide 2 kHz to 100 kHz frequency range and overlays the detected sound source onto a live visual image. This enables maintenance teams to rapidly locate electrical partial discharge, compressed air and gas leaks, vacuum leaks and abnormal mechanical noise without having to physically approach the suspected fault.
With a detection/localisation range of approximately 0.3 m to 150 m, intelligent partial-discharge analysis, leak analysis, 13 MP visual camera, laser distance measurement, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and professional PC analysis software, the UT568B is particularly suitable for utilities, substations, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, rail infrastructure and predictive maintenance teams.

See Sound – Locate Faults Faster
Traditional inspection methods often require technicians to move around equipment trying to identify where a sound originates.
The UT568B uses its 138-microphone acoustic array to determine the direction of the sound source and displays the acoustic energy as a visual colour map over the camera image.
Instead of simply hearing a leak or discharge, the technician can see exactly where the acoustic source is located.
This can significantly improve inspection efficiency when surveying large switchyards, substations, production facilities, compressed-air networks and industrial machinery.
Partial Discharge Detection
One of the most valuable applications of the UT568B is non-contact detection of partial discharge in electrical equipment.
Partial discharge can occur due to insulation deterioration, contamination, poor connections or electrical stress and may develop long before complete insulation failure.
The UT568B can assist with inspection of:
- HV switchgear
- Substations
- Transformers
- Cable terminations
- Busbars
- Insulators
- Electrical cabinets
- Overhead electrical equipment
- High-voltage connections
- Industrial electrical assets
