The UNI-T UT275 Clamp Earth Ground Tester is a professional clamp-type earth resistance tester designed for fast and convenient grounding system testing, preventative maintenance and electrical fault investigation.
Unlike traditional stake-based earth resistance testers, the UT275 can measure suitable grounding systems without disconnecting the grounding conductor and without installing auxiliary earth electrodes.
Simply clamp around the grounding conductor to measure earth/ground loop resistance.
The UT275 also measures AC leakage current up to 30A, allowing technicians to use one instrument for both grounding resistance assessment and investigation of current flowing through earth conductors.
With earth resistance measurement starting from 0.01Ω, resolution down to 0.001Ω, automatic ranging, resistance alarm, data storage and a robust double insulated clamp design, the UT275 is ideal for electricians, utilities, telecommunications, industrial facilities, solar installations and electrical maintenance teams.
Earth Resistance Testing Without Auxiliary Stakes
One of the biggest advantages of the UT275 is the ability to perform earth resistance measurements without the traditional auxiliary-stake method on suitable multi-grounded systems.
Traditional earth testing can require:
- Disconnecting the earth electrode
- Installing auxiliary earth stakes
- Running long test leads
- Finding suitable soil for test stakes
- Creating sufficient separation between test electrodes
- Potentially disrupting the existing grounding arrangement
For an appropriate interconnected grounding system, the UT275 provides a much faster approach.
Clamp around the earth conductor → measure the ground loop resistance → record the result.
This makes it particularly useful for routine inspection and preventative maintenance.
